چکیده

In dryland agroecosystems, intercropping fruit trees with legumes is often an important option for maintaining and improving soil N quality fertility. The relationships of fine root length density (FRLD), water content (SWC), NO3−-N (SNC) in agroforestry systems essential optimal orchard management. Our objective was to understand the temporal spatial dynamics FRLD, SWC, SNC apple–soybean system competition between species ecological niches. We established soybean apple, including monoculture apple (MA), (MS), intercrop (AS) treatments. collected data on distribution SNC, productivity under MA, AS, MS from 2020 2021. This study showed that AS had more FRLD compared (IA) increased at 20–60 cm depth 50 100 tree decreased 0–40 150 200 tree. Intercropping SWC effect concentrated cover area. reached its maximum seed filling stage, occurring mainly 0–20 depth. affected growth also reduced yield a land equivalent ratio = 1.45. By understanding subsoil resources interspecific competition, we can provide theoretical basis exploring potential sustainable intensification systems.

Fine Root Growth Response to Soil-Applied Nitrogen and Paclobutrazol

Practices to promote tree root growth have been sought in arboriculture for many years, especially as a treatment for trees that are stressed or in decline. Tree fertilization is a common practice in arboriculture. A few research reports have shown that nitrogen fertilization can increase fine-root density in localized areas of soil where the fertilizer has been applied, but the effect on the w...

Depth of nitrogen fertiliser placement affects nitrogen accumulation, translocation and nitrate-nitrogen content in soil of rainfed wheat

A field experiment was conducted to examine the effects of different depths ofnitrogen (N) fertiliser placements on N accumulation, remobilisation and NO3−-Ncontent in soil of rainfed wheat. Nitrogen was applied on the surface (D1) and inthe 10 cm (D2), 20 cm (D3) and 30 cm (D4) soil layers from 2010 to 2012.Compared with D1 and D2, D3 and D4 treatments obtained significant higher Ndistribution...

Irrigation and Nitrogen Regimes Promote the Use of Soil Water and Nitrate Nitrogen from Deep Soil Layers by Regulating Root Growth in Wheat

Unreasonably high irrigation levels and excessive nitrogen (N) supplementation are common occurrences in the North China Plain that affect winter wheat production. Therefore, a 6-yr-long stationary field experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of irrigation and N regimes on root development and their relationship with soil water and N use in different soil layers. Compared to the no...

Surface Soil Root Distribution and Possible Interaction with Site Factors in a Young Longleaf Pine Stand

Interaction between soil bulk density and low soil water content may create root growth-limiting soil strengths. In a Louisiana longleaf pine (Pinus palustris Mill.) stand, soil strength at the zeroto 20.0-cm depth was assessed in response to no fire or biennial fires in May. At the 5.0to 20.0-cm depth, one-half of the measurements were characterized by root growth-limiting soil strengths regar...

The Pattern of Root Distribution and Water Absorption in Layered Soil

The pattern of root distribution in layered soils is one of the significant issues in the calculations of soil water and irrigation management and planning. The objective of this study was to determine the pattern of root distribution of soybean in layered soils and its effect on water uptake. The research was conducted in a completely randomized design with 15 treatments consisting of three di...
